Full School Backpack

$50

It's hard enough to start a new life; kids frequently have to start a new school, too.  Send them off with the pride of a new backpack, filled with all the things they'll need to make their new school experience a success: notebooks, paper, pencils, pens, a pencil box and ruler, crayons, scissors, and all the things on the teachers' list.

Welcome Basket

$100

Each welcome basket contains the basic lines and personal hygiene items a family need when they have left home with only the clothes on their backs: sheets and towels, diapers and formula, a comb and brush, shampoo and conditioner, toothbrushes and toothpaste, bath soap, lotion, deodorant, and other personal items for a family of four.

Kids' Play Wagon

$150

Play is kids' work.  It is the way through which they make sense of the events and circumstances of their lives.  For kids who've experienced domestic violence, play is not only a diversion, it is the means through which they heal from the violence and begin to trust, hope, and dream again.  This gift basket offers an assortment of games that families can enjoy together, toys, and art supplies appropriate to kids of different ages.

Starter Pantry and Kitchen Accessories

$200

When a woman graduates from our shelter program, she typically needs to start her own household from scratch.  Help her stock her family's first  pantry in their new home  with basic food supplies, cookware, and eating utensils.

Starter Closet

$250

Often arriving with only the clothes they are wearing, victims and their children need a change of clothes right away. They may also need the necessary clothing for school or a job interview.  We provide vouchers good at local thrift and discount stores for whatever their family needs.

Holiday Basket

$300

Leaving an abusive home is especially difficult during the holidays, especially for mothers who have to leave everything they own behind…and have no money to buy their children gifts. Bring the spirit of joy and hope to a shelter family by providing them with gifts to celebrate this holiday season. Every basket is specially made with respect to the holiday the family celebrates. Any remaining funds from holiday baskets are utilized to ensure future times of joy and celebration, such as birthdays and other holidays, for the women and children in our shelters.
