Second Time Around

Second Time Around

More customers, fewer donations

The Lompoc Record reported April 6th that the bad economy is hit our thrift store, too.

Judy Faget, manager of Second Time Around, located at 110 W. Ocean Avenue in Lompoc, says donations are down but they are serving more customers.

"Everything is donated, we buy nothing," said Faget. The store is organized like a department store with everything from clothes and jewelry to housewares and arts and crafts. In addition to raising money for DVS, Second Time Around reaches out to the community in a number of other ways. "It’s all part and parcel of what we need to be," said Faget. "We’re part of the community." Learn more ...

Are You In An Abusive Relationship?

Take Dr. Jill Murrary's quiz to learn more about yourself and your relationship.

Dr. Murray writes, "Sometimes, it's difficult to know whether our relationships are healthy and nurturing or not. Oftentimes, what we think of as healthy is merely “normal” for us. That doesn't necessarily mean that it feeds your spirit, however."
